Acting Director, World Food Program's DC Office
Ms. Catherine Feeney has been working with the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) for about 18 years. She was recently appointed to the position of Acting Director, WFP Washington Office, prior to which she was Deputy Director of WFP’s Partnerships and Advocacy Coordination Division.
Ms. Feeney spent several years with WFP in Ethiopia and Swaziland, working on emergency, recovery and development operations. Earlier in her career, she worked with WFP in the areas of policy and resource mobilization, both in Washington and Rome. A national of Ireland, Ms Feeney holds a Masters Degree in Agriculture.
Rather than focusing on the quantity of foodstuffs that can be produced, attention has shifted to the nutritional value of the available food, specifically how well it fosters healthy human growth during early childhood.
