Roundtable VI: Transforming Human Capacity in Africa

1300 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Horizon Room

One of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, which are supported by the U.S., is to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and to promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Through education, vocational training, skills development, leadership training, and other initiatives, human capacity throughout Africa can be transformed and can help fuel Africa’s continued economic growth and development. Additionally, there is an opportunity to better leverage the African Diaspora to contribute to capacity building in Africa. The purpose of this roundtable will be to examine capacity building initiatives throughout Africa, discuss lessons learned, and develop specific recommendations on how the next U.S. Presidential Administration can support capacity building in Africa, consistent with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
